What makes us different

Why it works

Not simply to relieve symptoms.

By integrating the time-tested principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with modern biomedical science and evidence-informed therapies, we create comprehensive care plans that evolve with each patient’s progress. Our goal is to restore balance, improve function, and support lasting health.

The effect is not mystical, it is linked to the nervous system blocking pain signals and releasing the body’s own natural painkillers.

Before you ask

The questions that come up before a first appointment, sorted by what worries people most.

Not here? Then it belongs in the first call rather than on a website.

(407) 440-2808
Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm.

01 I have had surgery, metal, a fusion. Is this safe for me?

Tell us before the first treatment. Previous surgery, implanted metal, a spinal fusion, blood thinners, a pacemaker or reduced sensation in an area all change where and how we needle, and some of them rule out certain techniques. None of them rules out treatment by itself.

The intake asks for all of it, and we go through your history before the first treatment rather than after it.

02 Does it hurt?

The needles are a fraction of the thickness of the ones used for injections or blood draws. Most people feel the insertion as a dull pressure or a short ache rather than a sharp pain, and in many places they feel nothing at all.

03 Are the needles clean?

Every needle is sterile, individually sealed, used once and disposed of straight after. Nothing is reused between patients or between sessions. That is the legal standard for licensed acupuncture in Florida, and it is worth saying out loud because it is one of the first things people picture.

04 I have tried acupuncture before and it did not help.

It usually means the treatment did not match the condition, not that acupuncture itself failed. A course of relaxation acupuncture and a protocol for chronic nerve or joint pain are not the same treatment, even though both use needles.

A lot of the patients who trust this practice now tried acupuncture somewhere else first and did not get the same results as in our clinic and modalities.

05 Is this just placebo?

Fair question, and it is the one we hear most from people who have already been through the medical system. Dr. Chang holds a Doctorate in Oriental Medicine and a Master’s in Biomedical Science, and the explanation you get here is anatomical, not energetic: which structure refers pain into which area, and which pattern it is creating. The effect is not mystical, it is linked to the nervous system blocking pain signals and releasing the body’s own natural painkillers.

06 How long until something changes?

Most of our patients notice the first change after two to three weeks. Pain that has been there for years does not resolve in one session, and anyone who tells you it will is guessing.

You get reassessed as you go. If nothing is moving, that is a reason to change the plan or to stop, and we will say so.

07 Do I have to commit to a long course?

Chronic pain is treated as a series rather than as a single visit, because one session tells you very little. How long that series runs depends on the case, and you hear the plan before it starts.

You are not locked into anything.

08 How much does it cost?

It depends on how many sessions you need, how often they run, and how complex the condition is, so a number on a website would be a guess. The way to get a real one is the complimentary consultation: face to face, non-binding, and you hear the plan and what it costs before anything starts.

09 Is the complimentary consultation an appointment?

The complimentary consultation is a face to face consultation. On it you describe what is going on, you hear whether this is something we treat, and you decide from there.

10 When can I get an appointment?

We understand that most patients that contact our clinic suffer from chronic pain so we try to accommodate our patients as early as possible but it does get very busy and open slots are limited.

Call (407) 440-2808 and ask about our first availability.

Still not answered? Leave your name and number and we will bring it up ourselves.

The next step

Which pain are you still living with?

Tell us where it hurts and how long it has been going on. On the phone we go through whether this is something we treat. If it is not, we say so and point you somewhere else.
